Tawangmangu is a sub-district in Karanganyar District , Central Java . This district is famous because it is a very cool tourist area.
Tawangmangu is known as a mountain tourist attraction on the western slope of Mount Lawu which can be reached by land vehicle for about an hour from the city ​​of Surakarta (Solo). This place since the Dutch colonial era has become a place of travel. The main tourist destination object is Grojogan Sewu waterfall (height 81 m). In this rest area available various supporting facilities such as swimming pool and various forms of lodging. From Tawangmangu can begin climbing to the top of Mount Lawu (Pos Cemorokandang). In addition, from here there is a translucent path that leads to Telaga Sarangan in Magetan via Cemorosewu.
Tawangmangu is in a lush mountain arcade surrounded by forests and hills. But this small town has been famous to foreign countries because this area is a tourism object that is suitable to be an option while on vacation or tourism.
In addition to the cool air, the natural beauty around it is not less interesting with other regions in Indonesia, especially this area is famous for the production of vegetable-producing agriculture in addition to the existence of attractions Grojokan Waterfall Sewu. Tawangmangu itself has become an option for urban people to build villas, as well as invest by establishing hotels & inns.

WAYANG KULIT, Java's Culture

Wayang kulit  is a traditional  puppet-shadow play  found in the culture of  Java ,  Bali , and  Lombok ,  Indonesia . [1] In a  wayang  kulit performance, the puppet figures are rear-projected on a taut linen screen with a coconut-oil (or electric) light. The  Dalang  (shadow artist) manipulates carved leather figures between the lamp and the screen to bring the shadows to life. Wayang kulit is one of the many different forms of wayang theatre found in Indonesia, the other being  wayang beber ,  wayang klitik ,  wayang golek ,  wayang topeng , and  wayang wong . Wayang kulit is among the best known, offering a unique combination of ritual, lesson and entertainment. On November 7, 2003,  UNESCO designated  wayang kulit  from Indonesia as one of the  Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity .
