Towards the evening of Sura, Kasunanan Palace Surakarta always held carnival. You know, this ritual has been around since before PB X ruled.
One night Sura usually takes place at midnight. Before the core event begins, there is a series of opening events.One of them heirlooms. Ancestral heirlooms belonging to the kings of Solo were excluded from their special storage and washed with cauliflower water.
On the night of the Sura, all the heirlooms and spears were brought by the courtiers to take part in the ceremony. In the heirloom carnival some of the Caucasian Caucasians Kyai Slamet as cucuk lampah or the front. Kirab is also followed by sons and daughters of Sinuhun, relatives, and abdi dalem on foot.
When the carnival, all participants do silent or not talk to each other. Residents who witnessed usually also fell silent when the participants kirab pass.










The contestants usually wear black clothes and must throw samir in the neck. The soldiers, the servants of the palace, and all of Sinuhun's relatives wore black lace for men. The princes in the courts wore basahan, there is also wearing kebaya.
The daughters of Sinuhun wear kebaya brocade or black satay with batik cloth of sogan colors. Really match the color of the night before dawn. Black color gives the impression of solemn and kusyuk in undergoing the ritual.

Sura is the first month in Javanese calendar. For those who believe in it, Sura is a sacred and sacred moon that seems to be a month for rest or a ceasefire. Because in the month of Sura, the residents of Keraton Solo are not allowed to hold events, except events that can not be postponed like a lion and the birth of a baby.

WAYANG KULIT, Java's Culture

Wayang kulit  is a traditional  puppet-shadow play  found in the culture of  Java ,  Bali , and  Lombok ,  Indonesia . [1] In a  wayang  kulit performance, the puppet figures are rear-projected on a taut linen screen with a coconut-oil (or electric) light. The  Dalang  (shadow artist) manipulates carved leather figures between the lamp and the screen to bring the shadows to life.
