DOLALAK DANCE
Dolalak is a typical art from Purworejo District . This dance is a relic in the Dutch colonial era . Dolalak origin is from notes Do and La because this dance is accompanied by only a two-tone instrument using a pair of Kenong.
History
Islamic da'wah done by sunan Kali Jaga using the medium of Wayang Kulit and Jathilan art spread throughout the land of Yogyakarta and Central Java.
Sunan Kali Jaga before entering Islam is a robber with the name Ki warok Luko Joyo who is still one class of college with Ki warok Suryo nature. From here Sunan Kali Jaga gain knowledge about art such as Wayang beber which is modified into Wayang kulit.

In the Dutch era of 1900s, a dance of jathilan appeared more focused on the more erotic movement commonly referred to as jathil Obyok in the ancestral land of jathilan, Ponorogo.
The story of Dolalak is not much different from the dance story of Remo and Reog Kendang from east java which tells the journey of a Gemblak former Jathilan player who is on Reog who uses the typical clothes warok but with interesting colors.
Development

Dolalak is increasingly popular among the younger generation. This has not escaped the role of Purworejo Local Government which continues to develop and preserve the original arts of this Purworejo area. This is what drove Dolalak remain sustainable. Dolalak art is always featured in Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, Scout Jamboree from regional to national level, inter-regional cultural performances, even already crossed to several countries in Asia and Europe. Therefore Dolalak perli patented as the original art of Indonesia in general and become the original art of Purworejo District in particular. It is intended that Dolalak not be claimed as belonging to individuals, regions, or even other nations.
