DOLALAK DANCE

Dolalak is a typical art from Purworejo District . This dance is a relic in the Dutch colonial era . Dolalak origin is from notes Do and La because this dance is accompanied by only a two-tone instrument using a pair of Kenong.

History 

Islamic da'wah done by sunan Kali Jaga using the medium of Wayang Kulit and Jathilan art spread throughout the land of Yogyakarta and Central Java.
Sunan Kali Jaga before entering Islam is a robber with the name Ki warok Luko Joyo who is still one class of college with Ki warok Suryo nature. From here Sunan Kali Jaga gain knowledge about art such as Wayang beber which is modified into Wayang kulit.
Jathilan in Purworejo take the heart of all elements of society since the era of guard sunan that tells the struggle Bantarangin troops in the presence of Lodaya kingdom. In the Dutch era of 1900s, a dance of jathilan appeared more focused on the more erotic movement commonly referred to as jathil Obyok in the ancestral land of jathilan, Ponorogo.
The story of Dolalak is not much different from the dance story of Remo and Reog Kendang from east java which tells the journey of a Gemblak former Jathilan player who is on Reog who uses the typical clothes warok but with interesting colors.

Development 

Along with the development of the era and technology, Dolalak dance now has diringi with modern music, namely keyboard. The songs played were varied and varied.
Dolalak dancers were originally performed by men who were gemblak, in black uniform and shorts. This uniform mimics the Dutch army uniforms of ancient times. Over time, came the generations of female dancers accompanied by uniform modifications. And now, the existence of male dancers is very rare, one group of dancers who still have male dancers is a Dolalak dance group from Kaligesing. Dolalak dancers can experience trance , which is a condition they are not aware of because it is so late in dance and music.
Their behavior can be funny and funny. Dolalak Dance is now growing rapidly even has become a brand image of Purworejo District.
Dolalak is increasingly popular among the younger generation. This has not escaped the role of Purworejo Local Government which continues to develop and preserve the original arts of this Purworejo area. Even in every national event-event Dolalak art always appear as a unique art. In every national arts competition arts Dolalak always win.
This is what drove Dolalak remain sustainable. Dolalak art is always featured in Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, Scout Jamboree from regional to national level, inter-regional cultural performances, even already crossed to several countries in Asia and Europe. Therefore Dolalak perli patented as the original art of Indonesia in general and become the original art of Purworejo District in particular. It is intended that Dolalak not be claimed as belonging to individuals, regions, or even other nations.

WAYANG KULIT, Java's Culture

Wayang kulit  is a traditional  puppet-shadow play  found in the culture of  Java ,  Bali , and  Lombok ,  Indonesia . [1] In a  wayang  kulit performance, the puppet figures are rear-projected on a taut linen screen with a coconut-oil (or electric) light. The  Dalang  (shadow artist) manipulates carved leather figures between the lamp and the screen to bring the shadows to life.
