JAMASAN KERETO PUSOKO






The ceremony of Jamasan Kereta Kraton Yogyakarta is performed every night Tuesday Kliwon or Friday Kliwon in the month of Suro located at Museum Keraton Yogyakarta. Jamasan is a ritual to nurture and clean the heirlooms that were done for centuries by the Javanese people in filling the month of Suro.

The various objects of the Heritage Palace of Yogyakarta Palace such as Train, Gamelan , Keris, Spear and others in washing termed with "Dijamasi" in the month of Suro (Muharram) performed on special day that is Friday Kliwon or Tuesday Kliwon.

One of the process of Yogyakarta Jamasan Traditional Ceremony that is seen by the public is Jamasan Kereta Kanjeng Nyai Jimat Train. This Heritage Train is a Portuguese-made 1750s train prize from Gu bernur General Netherlands and became the main mount of Sultan Hamengkubuwono I - IV.

The highlight of this Jamasa process is that thousands of residents from various regions are always scrambling for water from the rest of the laundry, believing the water has its own blessings.
