Kampung Sampireun Hotel started its operation in January 1999, inaugurated by the Minister of Tourism Arts and Culture, Mr. Marzuki Usman on September 4, 1999. Located in Ciparay Village, Sukakarya Village, Samarang Sub-district, Garut, West Java, Sampireun Village occupies 3 , 6 hectares.

Besides Kampung Sampireun has standard facilities of the hotel is quite complete, such as Seruling Bambu Restaurant, Bale Putri Amantie, Waroeng Kopi ala kampung as a place of interaction of Kampung Residents (Guest and Employees), traditional Kiara Umbrella Meeting Room which accommodates up to 45 people, Sanghyang Park Dayu Garden which can be used as a place for "Dinner Party", Swimming Pool, and Taman Sari Royal Heritage Spa which was founded in 2003. Kampung Sampireun itself is taken from the name Situ which means Lake, and Sampireun which in Indonesian means Place Shelter. The lake has a sizable source of water that is still used by local communities to irrigate rice fields and public baths.
In one corner of the complex is still maintained bamboo garden that adds cool and calm with sound rustling. Shady pine plants and other corners laid out beautifully with the theme "Tropical Garden Lust".
As of January 9th, Kampung Sampireun has also received a three star rating from Tourism Business Certification Institute (LSU) so that this resort hotel has become the main choice for tourists who will visit Garut. In contrast, Sampireun village is also often the main reason for tourists from other big cities to visit the district of Garut.
With a very cool temperature between 12 C-18 C, and the unique concept of "Back To Nature" then Kampung Sampireun become a favorite place for those who are honeymooners and to spend the weekend for individuals who need a break from their daily routine in the big city. Many tourists who feel Kampung Sampireun seemed to be an oasis in the district of Garut, especially after a tired trip to the district of Garut. For some other travelers, this resort hotel is also a legend that is quite famous especially for Southeast Asian tourists.

WAYANG KULIT, Java's Culture

Wayang kulit  is a traditional  puppet-shadow play  found in the culture of  Java ,  Bali , and  Lombok ,  Indonesia . [1] In a  wayang  kulit performance, the puppet figures are rear-projected on a taut linen screen with a coconut-oil (or electric) light. The  Dalang  (shadow artist) manipulates carved leather figures between the lamp and the screen to bring the shadows to life. Wayang kulit is one of the many different forms of wayang theatre found in Indonesia, the other being  wayang beber ,  wayang klitik ,  wayang golek ,  wayang topeng , and  wayang wong .
