Kampung Sampireun Hotel started its operation in January 1999, inaugurated by the Minister of Tourism Arts and Culture, Mr. Marzuki Usman on September 4, 1999. Located in Ciparay Village, Sukakarya Village, Samarang Sub-district, Garut, West Java, Sampireun Village occupies 3 , 6 hectares.

Kampung Sampireun itself is taken from the name Situ which means Lake, and Sampireun which in Indonesian means Place Shelter. The lake has a sizable source of water that is still used by local communities to irrigate rice fields and public baths.
In one corner of the complex is still maintained bamboo garden that adds cool and calm with sound rustling. Shady pine plants and other corners laid out beautifully with the theme "Tropical Garden Lust".
As of January 9th, Kampung Sampireun has also received a three star rating from Tourism Business Certification Institute (LSU) so that this resort hotel has become the main choice for tourists who will visit Garut. In contrast, Sampireun village is also often the main reason for tourists from other big cities to visit the district of Garut.
